Car won't start!

My 1930 4 door sedan has run fine ever since I bought it, until the last couple of times I've driven it. I noticed it was losing power up hills. Today it would not make it up a hill it normally went up in 2nd gear, until I downshifted to 1st, and even then I was praying. So I got home and checked the plugs. 3 were real dirty, but 1 was coated with 1/16th" caked on crud. I cleaned them good. I sanded lightly the points. Then tried to start it, and now it will not fire. While I have your attention can you help with problem #2? All lights have quit working. I can hear switch clicking, when I turn it to the off position, as it always has, but nothing is happening. Thanks, in advance for any helpful comments. Tom
