certainly, this gentleman has every right to do with his model a as he may please-----it's his property, and we all are under ethical obligation to recognise his freedom to do with his property as he chooses.

but, if i may, i would respectfully ask him to reconsider, based on this line of reasoning

the now "traditional" hot rods and "street rods" became popular in the late '40's--early '50's cos they were a way for a man of limited means to have a high performance car, i. e., they were the "muscle cars" of their time.

they were usually made from ford pieces cos fords could be gotten for free or very cheaply, as they were considered by many people to be "old junk", and worthless.

now, times have changed--the "old junk car" of 40 years ago is now eagerly sought by those who wish to preserve them, both as historical artifacts, and as useful and desirable everyday transport.

the specialist "hot-rod" trade has developed, as well, and now any number of suppliers make and offer reproduction chassis, bodies, fenders, etc., which are in every way better and stronger for any high-performance use.

its far more cost-effective for someone who wants a high performance car to use new, stronger pieces, which will make up a much better car for that purpose.

so---i would respectfully ask someone to consider offering an original car for sale, or to consider offers from those who would preserve it, which would serve the purposes, both of preserving an irreplaceable piece of history, and of providing a substantial amount of money, which would allow of building up a much better street rod with today's technology.

or---if one were to feel commited to using an original ford body, then one might consider selling the complete, original car, and buying one of the loose bodies cheaply available---a person could come out quite a lot of money ahead by doing that. --- i'm sure that a request here would locate several coupe bodies, fenders, etc.
