Cooling Fan Options

I've been seeing a lot of discussion on fans, what I understand is not to use an original for a driver due to them coming apart. I like the looks of the two blade and wonder if the aluminum repo is a good alternative? Is there more than one manufacturer and if so which is the better? Do these need to be balanced before use? What are your experiences with this type of fan? I've seen the 4 blades and they're probably more efficient but to me they look out of place, maybe if they where black instead nylon colored.
