Glen,
I purchased Bratton's 160 degree thermostat part #A-8257 cost $10.50.This unit has a 1" long welded stainless steel thin wall pipe attached to one end.I installed the thermostat in the upper radiator hose by pushing it down inside the hose from the top.The pointed end MUST face the radiator and the pipe end face towards the water pump.Place a hose clamp around the hose at the stainless steel pipe to hold inplace.I understand most Model A'ers use the 160 degree unit but a 180 degree unit is also sold.

Bratton's Antique Auto Part's 1-800-255-1929

Good Luck,
