What body did I have?

I was wondering if this group could help me
identify a couple things.
First:If I have the engine or frame number can I determine what type body was on the frame I have?
My car has a two tooth sector gear in the steering box.I assume this is a 1931.I was told little about this car as I purchased this rolling chassis from a parts dealer.
Second:I intend on turning this car into a driver.I do not have a body for it at this time. I am considering a standard roadster from Brookville.Any thoughts or ideas on going this route?
And Last would a book on judging standards help me in choosing the color scheme for the interior, top, and body colors.
