EXHAUST MAN.HEATER

Posted by Jeff on September 10, 1998 at 18:18:00

My 30 cc truck has a AUTOLITE heater chamber built into the exhaust manifold. Seems the fan driven hot air is directed through a flaired opening on the fan side and flows through an opening in the fire wall. From inside of the cab there is
a door that slides on a screw like the crank hole at the bottom of the radiator.

I was asking my parts supplier if he carried the gasket that marries the cast heater/manifold to the door on the firewall and he advised me that this arrangement is very dangerous due to carbon dioxcide that these heaters are known to funnel in to the cab he advised that it be removed and to buy the stock manifold from him for 125 dollars.

Sounds like good advice but i like the novelty of having it and i dont really want to go thru all the hastle if its not nessessary.

Can anyone please advise????

Thank you from southern california (Lakeside that is..)
