Late '31 sediment bulb-QUESTION????

I HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS WANTING YOUR INFORMATION ON THIS ONE. To us it is a bit weird to see the indented firewall with the "outside the cab" valve gas line leading directly to the carburetor with no sediment bulb in sight. Is this really the way it was supposed to be? Are we missing something?
Both of my "A"s (1929 & 1930)have the cast iron sediment bulb set-up and it serves well!
QUESTION-DID "HENRY" GIVE UP USING THIS SEDIMENT BULB IDEA ON THE LATE '31's???? IGNORANT IS NOT BEAUTIFUL!
