: The sediment bulb mounts to the side of a side-bowl Carbureter which I beleive is the Zenith-3 (could be wrong about that) which is the right version for the late '31.Side-bowl Zeniths are few and far between, and probably was swapped with a more common version (after the owner saw the price tag for the right one). This, of course, leaves no place for the sediment bulb.

: I'm using a "B2" Carb on mine with a Fram inline gas filter to keep the corruption out of the idle jets (but then I'm not a purist). I hope the "Grose Jet" Valve works better than the old stock needle - I'm NOT going to raise the hood to shut the Gas off every time I stop.Henry had some good ideas, but I don't think the indented fire-wall was one of them (kind of like the all-bushing water pump of '29).

The later Zenith 2 carbs had the "side mount" sediment bulb which was really an iron casting that housed the filter and attached to the side of the carburetor like Bob said.

I had one on my 31 deluxe roadster, and it worked well..Correct me Bob, but wasn't the Zenith 3 an aftermarket carb? And are very rare now?

Regards..
