Model 'A' Shocks

Posted by Richard Inzana on Oct. 26, 1998 at 12:14:41

Hello,
I just purchased and installed four shocks for my 1929 Briggs Fordor. I don't know if I installed them correctly. I had no shocks on the rear of my car, so I also purchased two rear shock arms. When I put the two front shocks, the drain plugs are facing upwards and the shock arm line up with the axel. One was stamped "R" and the other "L". The one stamped "R" is on the passenger's side and the "L" is on the drivers side. This sounds a little strange to me. Does it matter?? Also is there an adjustment to be made on the needle?? or does this just get installed as is???
Thanks Richard Inzana
