Car dies if I step on the gas

After spending months working on my car (1929 Murray Fordor), I finally had it together enough for it to move on its own power.Problem is, if I "stomp" on the gas, or when putting it into gear, the engine sputters and often stalls.(though I was able to take it out for a very short, round the block, low power, drive) (I couldn't get above about 15 mph)

I checked the timing, played with the spark advance, checked all the fuel lines and filters.. it idles nice and smooth and runs at the perfect temperature (even in the current hot weather we're having here). My final guess is the carburator.

I rebuilt the thing, so I know that the nozzles and jets are all clean, clear and straight. The only thing I haven't verified are all the little internal passages.

Before I tear it all apart again, are there any other ideas that people may have as to the possible causes of the engine sputtering when stepping on the gas?
