Attention Model A Kids & Kids At Heart

Posted by Anthony Gal on February 03, 1998 at 08:35:29

Just returned from a show in Moultrie GA where there
were several vendors of Model A parts. When I look at
the vendors and those folks hanging around them, the
aura of death, doom & gloom predominates. They sell
few parts and don't act very friendly to us young ones
who pass by. They size me up and figure that a 40 year old like me only wants to do a street rod. One fellow didn't
want to even talk to me, despite that I wanted to buy
some parts from him.

Come on guys.It's us 40, 30, & 20 somethings who are here
to keep the Model A alive, original and running in the 21st
century.I have yet to encounter here in Metro Atlanta
someone of my age (or younger) who is restoring a Model A.

Maybe it's a southern thing, since I see from the postings
that some younger folks out West are actively doing restorations. At least that give me hope for the future.

It's time for us young ones to stand up to these old geysers
and let them know that the Model A is very alive and will
be here long after they've gone to the great parking lot
of the hereafter.
