RPM Revisited

Ive given the rpm thing some more thought and after digging thru so books I found a formula for finding rpm at a given speed.RPM = MPH x Gear Ratio x 336 then divide by your tire diameter. So lets take my 1930 Tudor as a guinea pig lets see....50 mph x 3.78 x 336 and divide a 29 in. dia.tire {4.50x 19} =2189 rpm ,That getting close to the max. of 40hp@2200rpm.So I guess it is up to the owner at what speed he or her feels safe at.Hope you guys find this interesting.

Bill
