I totally agree. Everyone should be "clocked" one way or another to have a realistic reference on their speed. But also, this is just a guideline. I've driven restored A's that weren't safe at 40mph! We keep discussing engine smoothness, reliability, and performance. If the particular vehicle doesn't stop like it should, or gets "squirrely" over rough pavement or on sweeping turns, it should be driven more slowly unless these problems are resolved. Unfortunately this applies to many A's. Many newcomers to this fabulous hobby experience these characteristics and accept it as normal. If they only knew how much more they could be enjoying their 'A'!
