Why not lighten the flywheel without crankshaft mods? Or, why other than the way the clutch is designed, does the flywheel need to be as big as it is? Anybody know the difference(if any) in weight between the clutch/pressure plate/flywheel assemby and the multiple disk clutch/flywheel? If they are the same I'd suggest that Ford made the weight the same for a reason...If they are different then perhaps it is simply making the flywheel however it needed to be to fit the spacing intended for the multiple disk clutch.
