Thanks for all of the responses...it is alway interesting to get this group going on stuff like this. The A's around here range from bone stock to inserted with just about everything but overhead valves (including a cut-down flywheel and non counterbalenced crank...just didn't have one to put in it) It still looks basically stock, runs very nearly as smooth, and does a pretty good job of keeping up with traffic...the loss of inertia in the flywheel seems to be offset by the power increase from the other work, and the acceleration is much better.The nicest to drive in the countryside is the stock AR with the multiple disk clutch (so much smoother than the original, non-spring center clutch and smoother than the modern replacement, too). But the countryside is rapidly disapearing here and the power feels a lot safer...and since the most fun about an A is driving it...
