I began working on a 1931 Coupe a few months ago and have found it quite rewarding.I have completed the following items on this car

1. Replaced Tillotson Carb with NEW Zenith
2. New Distributor and cap,rotor, points, plugs,condensor
3. New water pump
4. Steering Stabilizer
5. Performed 3-point steering adjustment.
6. Adjusted Brakes.
7. Replaced horn/light switch rod.
8. Timed
9. Adjusted clutch

This car starts right off and idles well.It seems to drive OK, but I have never driven one before so I have nothing to compare it against. Can someone help me fill in the blanks on the following items.

1. The acceleration seems like it coulb be better and the car underpowered. What should I expect ?

2. The steering is OK and I am pretty comfortable driving the car. However, there is still about 2 inches of lash when the wheel is centered. Also the steering seems somewhat stiff. Was this normal or does it need some other adjustment or is this just signs or worn parts and age ?

3. There is a lot of whining in 1st and 2nd gear.I would imagine this is transmission related since third gear is quiet.I have located a replacement transmission. Is it true the rear end must be removed/moved to replace the transmission ?

4.Are there any tricks to removing the steering wheel. This one has two keyways.I tried to soak it with WD40 and used a rubber mallet, but had no success.Should I use a wheel puller and if so any tricks to prevent damaging the threaded end.
