I've pondered that question many times and my best estimate is full of guesses.

I'll start with MARC - MAFCA members. I would guess there are about 20,000 members between the two clubs accounting for dual members like myself. In my experience I'd guess that 70% have just one "A", 15% have two and 15% have 3 or more.

From that I'd guess again that the average would come out to about two per member and total near 40,000 A's. With that many I'd have to guess there are another 10,000 A's owned by non-members which brings us to 50,000 A's.

Now if my estimate of the number of A's is anything like my estimate of the number of hours it will take me to do something on MY "A", then it would suggest that the actual number would be closer to 150,000 A's!!!
