Muffler Knock

I've just installed a new muffler. The vibration at lower
RPMs cause it to hit it mounting bracket causing it knock rapidly. The documentation I have say that this was the way it was designed. It also goes on to say that in an attempt to stop the knock people took the slack out and the vibration would cause cracks in the muffler and exhast manifold.
To me, that says that folks way back in model A days didn't care much for the vibration ether. My queston is:
Is there a modern muffler bracket that would replace Henry's.
Since my car is a driver and I put alot of miles on it,this knocking is driving me crazy!
