Did you have to use a shim or washer between the halves of
the cap? In my case they seemed to be awful tight,probably
causing the failure of the ball.
At present there is up & down movement Of 1/4 inch.Do you
think driving it on a 200 mile tour before I can replace
the rubber would be harmful or hazardous?
