: I don't think I would blast a horn, as I don't think the bell and the cover would take the blasting very well.I agree with Carla, sand the rough parts and either spray it with a spray can (prime the bare metal first) or another thought would be to contact a couple of local body shops and ask them what they would charge to spray your horn when they were doing a black spray job, I would guess you could find someone that is doing a job and would spray the horn for another $20 or so.If you are near MN I could get it done for that or less.

I was hoping that using a fine bead (as opposed to courser materials) in the blaster would prevent any marring of the metal surface.If my spraying techniques don't meet up to standards, there is a body shop here in town which I'm sure would fit my horn into their schedule.Good idea.
