G'Day Gordon,
I've had several goes at painting my horn (the cars one) & every failure has been bead blasted off without any ill effects whatsoever. If you're going to have a lot of painting to do & you already have a compressor, why not go out & buy youself a cheap low pressure gun, I'm sure you'd pick one up for about the same price as a few cans of aerosol, & hey! you could add spray painting to your list of achievements.

: : I don't think I would blast a horn, as I don't think the bell and the cover would take the blasting very well.I agree with Carla, sand the rough parts and either spray it with a spray can (prime the bare metal first) or another thought would be to contact a couple of local body shops and ask them what they would charge to spray your horn when they were doing a black spray job, I would guess you could find someone that is doing a job and would spray the horn for another $20 or so.If you are near MN I could get it done for that or less.

: : Hope this helps.

: I was hoping that using a fine bead (as opposed to courser materials) in the blaster would prevent any marring of the metal surface. If my spraying techniques don't meet up to standards, there is a body shop here in town which I'm sure would fit my horn into their schedule.Good idea.

: Thanks,

: Gordon
