hello again, gordon,

here's my 2 cts worth

i would think that spray-can paint should be just fine for the purpose.

most sherwin-williams dealers will fill spray cans on request with high quality enamel. if you have to buy several cans to meet "minimum order" that's alright, black spray paint is always useful. best quality spray paint may cost quite a bit more than the cheap stuff, but its a lot easier than using and cleaning a paint gun for small parts.

unless your parts are badly rusted, just sand smooth and paint ---let dry 3-4 days, colour-sand and paint again.

do a third coat if you like.

wait a couple of weeks for the paint to fully harden, and rub it down with a fine rubbing compound. at this point it should look better than new.

all the best

carla
