you make some good points here--- !
referring to red's car as a coupe was my error---i inadvertantly confused this one with a couple of earlier postings.---but i don't believe that there was any reference to condition--so that one's your error.
i have to give you credit for bringing up one important detail, tho---as well as the right of an owner to do as they please---any number of original cars have been turned into hot rod parts cos the hot rodders were willing to "out-bid" the would-be restorers---and some restorers might express an opinion without being willing to "put their money where their mouth is".
