Carla,

I thought I saw a couple of different references to a coupe, wasn't trying to shoot at anyone specific.I guess what I meant about the condition was everyone seemed to assume the body was nice enough to save, while in all reality it may be rusted and bent to the point that no one could or would try to restore it to original (based onRed's message about the tree growing up out of the middle I would guestimate that is more the case).

I unfortunately agree that there have been and will be nice original cars chopped up to make rods, which I think is a crying shame, but there again at least some of these were probably saved from the scrap heap in the 30's-60's beause some teenager built a hot rod out of them, so if they hadn't, they would have been crushed and melted.

It is good to see a lot of us around that want to see them restored and will try to save all the originals we can.Hopefully our mission will keep at least a few people from tearing apart a nice car, and steer them towards the other options.

Take care

Gary

: hello, gary

: you make some good points here--- !

: referring to red's car as a coupe was my error---i inadvertantly confused this one with a couple of earlier postings.---but i don't believe that there was any reference to condition--so that one's your error.

: i have to give you credit for bringing up one important detail, tho---as well as the right of an owner to do as they please---any number of original cars have been turned into hot rod parts cos the hot rodders were willing to "out-bid" the would-be restorers---and some restorers might express an opinion without being willing to "put their money where their mouth is".
