: Hi Folks,

It's me again! If in fact these holes do exist, what I really need to know is where are they in relationship to the spring perch.I would suspect that they are anywhere between 9 and 3 o'clock, probably not below that. The reason for this curiosity is if the axle tubes are full of oil, how do I get this oil back out of the tubes?

1) disassembly?

2) removing the grease fitting behind the brake backing plate?

3) leave it alone?

4) drill a very tiny hole in the bottom of each trumpet just outside the tapered axle bearings to let the oil drip only from the axle tubes and not the banjo?

The idea of these tubes being filled with oil is quite scary as in time it might cause sudden and complete rear brake failure.

I'm just about to put in my rebuilt engine and tranny and now this happens! I'm really at a loss with this one!

Thank you,

Kevin Daly
