Valve adjustment

There appears to be a wide difference of opinion on the best spec to use for adjusting the valve train. I plan on going through mine this weekend and would like to hear your opinions. I understand that a little loose is better than a little tight and have friendswho have set theirs across the board at .015. ?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
