Scott,

I have been told to avoid using any type of radiator sealer in the Model "A" system. They say the sealer clogs things up that don't belong clogged up.And then again, the sealer probably won't stop the leak for very long.

Your best bet is to take the radiator to a competent shop where they will remove the core and check to see if it is usable. At the shop they will repair the leaks and they will also "rod" out the tubes in your core to remove any debris that restrict flow.

This is just what I was told...

: I haven't had to deal with radiators before and would like some advice.

: I have a small leak, about halfway up, in my original radiator. Before I take it off the car to have it repaired, should I try a radiator sealer (Barr's or some other brand)? If I should take it off and have it repaired can the leak be soddered or will the tube have to be pinched off?

: Or is none of this wise, & I should have the thing recored.

: Thanks in advance.
: Scott
