Mike,

The original primer on my Cabriolet was a redish-brown. It could be the primer peeking through. However as Marco said the original paint does not tend to peel.

Marco,

My Cabriolet had the original Bronson Yellow and Seal Brown paint under red, green and white. After examining the parts carefully I came to the conclusion that the car was first painted yellow then masked and the brown was applied. This appears to be the opposite of what you said. The inside of the door posts and door latch area were brown but when I removed the brown there was yellow under the brown. I could also tell that when the door jam was painted brown the yellow parts of the door were masked to include the part of the door skin that is crimped around the jam.

Bob
