I bought a set of these floating devices from an ad in Hemmings several months ago.I recently completed the rebuild of my front end and installed them in my '29 tudor.Early indications are that the combination of woven brake shoes and these devices radically improved my brakes.
Functionally they are great.The manufacturing specs on my set are suspect.I had trouble getting mine installed so that the operating wedge wouldn't bind between the backing plate and the wedge stud.I ended up having to put about .02 of shim between the backing plate and the wedge stud in order to give the wedge clearance to move.It's a great idea but you have to have quality parts to make it work.
