: I bought a set of these floating devices from an ad in Hemmings several months ago.I recently completed the rebuild of my front end and installed them in my '29 tudor.Early indications are that the combination of woven brake shoes and these devices radically improved my brakes.

: Functionally they are great. The manufacturing specs on my set are suspect.I had trouble getting mine installed so that the operating wedge wouldn't bind between the backing plate and the wedge stud.I ended up having to put about .02 of shim between the backing plate and the wedge stud in order to give the wedge clearance to move. It's a great idea but you have to have quality parts to make it work.

mrr---if you or someone else could get a copy of the dwg or a sketch of the part, with accurate dim's and tolerances, also the matl spec.---4140?---and heat treat spec.----we might have a go at making a few of them here---i'd agree ---no excuse for .020 shim needed--e- mail me on "wa6ube @ ix. netcom. com"
