welded ball studs on spindle arms

I have just ordered four replacement ball studs for the steering arms on my '30.It was surprisingly hard to find these balls, and along the way I encountered some negative feedback about my plans to cut off the worn balls, drill a hole and weld in the replacements. I have very good machine shop and tig welding resources and did not feel that this job was anything but straight forward. In the past, I have received excellent advice from this board and would appreciate any experienced comments on the welding of these replacement balls. Thanks again, Michael D
