: if body stripe is straw, should the rims be painted straw or tacoma cream on a mid 1930 coupe, i know the correct color is black, but i think littledressing up is needed with the goodyear black walls, also does anyone out there know how the logo flags were painted, or baked, ect on the side walls of the tires?thanksdan rossi

Dan,

Good questions! As you probably know, color wheels became available in July. There were many more stripe colors than the five colors available for wheels. In the cases where there was no match, the nearest color was used.Where there was nothing close, Tacoma cream was used.Your assumption is correct that Tacoma cream would be supplied with straw stripe.

To answer Glen's question, Goodyear tires beginning in 1930 had a "waving" flag logo on the side wall just before the Goodyear name.I believe it was moved opposite the name in the mid-30's.

The flag was devided into quarters. The upper and lower quarters were a fairly bright yellow and the left and right quarters were a royal blue. The mast or pole was either white or silver (difficult to tell for sure).
