: Marco, :Does the same five colors hold true for when the dealers painted them?: GW Technically yes.Ford provided the five colors of enamel to the dealers.Obviously the dealer could have had colors mixed somewhere else, but I'm not even sure of that.Pyroxylin lacquer as we know it was developed by Du Pont and GM in 1923 and wasn't widely used until 1929.Enamels with color pigments were introduced sometime in the late 1920's and didn't have wide spread use until sometime later.It may be that the only thing readily available from outside was the old colored varnish that was still in use on the expensive cars until the late 1920's.
