: I ask Marco this question but I guess I should get more than one opinion, I am trying to find someone to paint my 28 driverthe painters tell me to go with base coat / clear coat but the guys in the club say to stay with enamel, what are the pro & con of the two paints ? Also my fordor will be Balsam green, Valley green & Pembroke gray , can someone translate these names into numbers that the paint store lady can understand. THANKS IN ADVANCEJW

JW,
I really like the way the base/clear coat systems looks, especially when they're buffed up. I was going to spray my coupe this way but I changed my mind after this weekend while at a show. There were a few cars painted with BC/CC, they looked drop dead gorgeous,...but it sort of doesn't fit the Lady's character. Instead I'm opting for using Centari's acrylic enamel, besides I already have the paint. So it's up to you. The paint shops are going to say the BC/CC because they are set up to shoot the stuff plus it is more forgiving to get a shine. No matter the system just get a good reputable shop! Now as for the colors, get your self the "MODEL A FORD PAINT GUIDE" and take it in to match up the paint. That is about the best way to get your color.

Some tip, some opinion,
GW

PS you ain't one of them long lost cousins are ye?
