: Bill,

Initially the corners were made of two triangles of leather sewn together on the short sides of the right triangle. This left visible stitching along the bottom and rear of the hood corner.

Thank you for that great information.Since I am dealing with an early 28, I should have the triangles sewed on 2 sides. The big question is how the piece was then installed. Was it sewn inside out, and turned rightside out before installation, so as to hide the seam and only let the stitching show, or was it sewn right side out, and the rough edges left to show when installed???I am supposing it was black top grain leather.

Bill
