Carla, Hmm, so the 440A stuff is good for this application? Centerless ground would give you an accruate .625 shaft, alright!I've seen the drawings, but don't remember where--you're 100% correct that that would be the proper way to tool up. I have seen shafts with the wrong taper on them too, makes for wobbly fans! Of course these shafts would cost more than the 'gypo' shafts being sold today, I assume! I wonder if MAFFI has the pump shaft drawings?? I guess with a cnc machining center they could be spit out in short order. Hmm, production run around 500 maybe????? (another closely held secret, the size of part production runs!) --David D. |
