Al,

The only way that I know as the correct way to fix the sag of your doors is to use Body To Frame Pads. Look on page 129 of Bratton's Antique Auto Parts catalog and see Part No. A 90530. These are the rubber shims used under the cowl to align the hood and doors.

I used these same Rubber Body To Frame Pads to correct door sag on my 1930 CC pickup. My doors were not aligned at all and using these pad got me in great shape! Sometimes you use one, sometimes two or whatever it takes to get the doors to rise or fall. In your case...I believe you want the door edge to raise up.

Just think of your body as having a certain amount of flexability. You loosen the body bolts and place the shim(s) underneath at just the right point and then tighten the body bolts down to get the correct twist to the body. This process will re-positon your door hinges. This sometimes takes a lot of experimentation but you will finally get it.

Whatever you do, don't rely on 2x4 twisting of the doors or using "home made" levers to change the angle of your hinges or you might be very sorry indeed. I never did this but some of my friends have screwed up royal!
