On one of the AA chassis I have, there is a dual pedal that comes up thru the floor. I'm trying to remember its location. I think it was to the left and back from the clutch pedal. Did some AA have "low range" or what were they for?Ken

O: : Bill, I have a AA transmission, but I'm not familiar with the term Warford. Please give me more info. Ken

: Ken

: Warford made an aftermarket replacement transmission for both the Model AA and the Model T/TT.

: The notable feature of the Warford AA was that at least two different transmission ranges were available. One version included "gearing down" that resulted in a truck with amazing load carrying capacity but no speed. The other (and more desirable version for today's use) was a transmission with an available overdrive. This is probably the transmission desired by Bill Gattis.

: The AA Warford Transmission is described briefly in a single page advertisement reprinted in the book "A/AA Truck Owner" by A.G. McMilton available at any of the major parts suppliers for about $18.

: I can't say I've seen a lot of Warford Transmissions lying around (not a single one, actually).Probably there weren't more than a couple hundred or a couple thousand made in those days. Most are now probably residing quietly as Isusus or Hondas.

: It might be a problem to find parts in any case.A better solution might be to utilize the short shaft area where the dual high is frequently seen and make up an overdrive setup which will fit in it's place.

: Best regards,
: Joe
