Paint for Tillotson Carburetor

I am in the process of restoring a Tillotson Model X Carburetor. Under the Engine Compartment Section in the Model A Ford Judging Standards & Restoration Guidelines, it is stated that the carburetor body should be painted a dull black. Is the dull black finish correct for the Tillotson carburetor as well as Zenith carburetors or should I just buff the body of the Tillotson carburetor body to be most correct?
