Newton,
Look in the Preliminary Judging section of the standards (page 14). Your car will not qualify for judging unless it has an original carburetor (Holly, Zenith or Ford). If you are restoring the car for show then you must get an original carburetor. If you are not going to show your car then a good Tillotson will work just fine.
