oil/coolant and other important things??

I was told by the previous owner of my 1929 Model A to use 30 weight non detergent oil in the motor. I assume this was based on the original factory recommendations. Considering that oil formulas are now vastly improved, is there any reason not to use a multi-grade detergent oil? Any suggestions? What oil shold we use for rear end.... What antifreeze (winter is coming..)? shood we use duckhams heritage oil?? Please H E L P! MIKE
