: : Hello,

: : About to put body back on frame. How should I attach the welt to the frame and where? The splash aprons hold the center in place. but what about the rest?

: Dean,

Hi Dean..

I layed the welting on my frame loosly and marked the hole locations on the welting and cut them out. Then I applied contact cement on the top of the frame rails and the underside of the welting and let both surfaces dry.

Then with the help of another person, we layed the welting on the frame starting at the front and working our way to the back.Roll up the welting before starting and work your way slowly. When the welting contacts the frame, it's there to stay, so be very careful.

: I have used clear silicone sealer (sparingly) along the length of the frame rail and on the underside of the welting.Work out the wrinkles, etc and remove any excess sealer. If you do this prior to puting the body on, it will dry and hold the welting in place. You can also punch the required holes in the welting. This makes inserting the body bolts much easier. Have fun!
