Loose two-piece crankshaft pulley

I just discovered my two-part crankshaft pulley is loose on my 29 Coupe. The large socket I have won't fit while the engine is
in the car.I tried tightening it with the crank, but it didn't budge.Any suggestions short of removing the engine to tighten it??
