: I just discovered my two-part crankshaft pulley is loose on my 29 Coupe. The large socket I have won't fit while the engine is
: in the car.I tried tightening it with the crank, but it didn't budge.Any suggestions short of removing the engine to tighten it??

A little hard to get at, isn't it Bill!?I have tightned them with a big punch and hammer but it can be a little hard on the radiator if you miss. The suppliers sell a wrench that will work ok!.. provided that you have the proper size nut on it.I bought one of the wrenches. It was made using a HEX 1 3/8" socket. The socket (1 3/4" deep) has two adjoing flats sawded off so that the wrench can be put on the nut. A piece of 1 1/2" flat stock was welded to the top edge of the socket for a handle. The handle is 15" long with a 1 3/4" offset 4 1/2" from the socket. The offset is bent so that the long shank of the handle is in line with the face of the socket.
Shouldn't be too difficult to make one.Hope this helps.
Have fun!
Paul
