Cracked Flywheel housing

After sandblasting I discovered cracks in the flywheel housing just below the attaching bolts radiating out to the sides about 1.5 - 2" (Imagine - a cracked flywheel housing!). If (when)you had this problem, how did you handle it? Is drilling holes at the end of the cracks, notching the casting and Brazing a viable treatment, or are there better ones?
