I'm not sure of the problem you are encountering but I just rewired my '29.The best wiring diagrahm that I have found is in the Bratton parts catalog.Keep in mind that mid-way through production, they switched the coil wiring.Bratton depicts the later approach.This should correspond to your '30 but check the date of mfg by the VIN.Don't buy a wiring diagrahm because most of them show less than the ones depicted in the catalogs.If you don't have a catalog, I think you can order one on-line at the Model A Trader web site.Sorry, I don't know how to add that link.

PS, your symptoms sound more like a suspect condenser.They can be junk even if they are new.Try replacing yours.Cheap to do and you need a spare anyway.
