: I'm not sure of the problem you are encountering but I just rewired my '29.The best wiring diagrahm that I have found is in the Bratton parts catalog.Keep in mind that mid-way through production, they switched the coil wiring.Bratton depicts the later approach. This should correspond to your '30 but check the date of mfg by the VIN.Don't buy a wiring diagrahm because most of them show less than the ones depicted in the catalogs. If you don't have a catalog, I think you can order one on-line at the Model A Trader web site.Sorry, I don't know how to add that link.
Same comment on the wiring. I just had the same problem with my 1929 leatherback. I was cleaning out the cooling system and after running for about 15 minutes it just stopped. My wife thought it had run out of gas. After going through the carb, timing, points etc I gave up and relpaced the condenser and it started right up. That condenser had less than an hours running time on it. Good luck. Jim

: PS, your symptoms sound more like a suspect condenser. They can be junk even if they are new.Try replacing yours.Cheap to do and you need a spare anyway.
