Black oxide fender edge bolts

I own a 1930 Closed Cab Pickup(June-July). I have ordered original black oxide fender edge bracket bolts from Mac's Antique Auto Parts. (see Oct. 1996 page 125) These smooth bolt heads show at the outside edge of all fenders. There are four bolts total. For my pickup, I believe the carriage bolt heads are painted black. My question is this: Should these bolt heads be primed and then painted with gloss black enamel or left in the original black oxide finish. For myself, I am ready to spray these head bolts black enamel like the fenders.
