Choke rod

A conversation on fuel mixture reminded me of a question I have
When turning the choke counter-clockwise to make the fuel mixture more rich, the little knob on the end of my choke rod unscrews. I have to get my fingers on the rod, and turn it... not really that easy. I've tried tightening the knob, but the thing just keeps coming loose.
Does anyone have a clever solution for this little problem?
