I agree, the Loctite will do the trick. This is an anorobic glue which sets up with the absence of air. All you have to do is put one drop on the threads near the top and screw the knob in place. Don't stop while your screwing the knob because it will instantaneously set right there. If you ever have to remove the knob heat will soften the bond. When you buy get the smallest amount you can get. Once opened it should be stored in a cool place like a refrig. I've used Loctite 35 quite a bit but that was several years ago and there are probably many new compounds on the market now.
